collages on paper

I purposely work with imagery from advertisement, borrowing its aesthetic. By isolating, rearranging, and redirecting fragmments from images, I undermine their original intention to suduce and manipulate. In this series, I suggest a gaze turned inward—something intimate, vulnerable, and fragmented.

I am deeply engaged with the acute force of advertising, which for decades, circulates a singular vision of femininity. For young women, this commercial gaze distorts self-perception, teaching them to view their bodies as objects—an objectification that often leaves visible and unvisible scars.

This series of paper collages serves as a mirror, tracing my transition from girlhood to womanhood. They illustrate a fragmented identity, slowly trying to reconstruct itself—because healing is a slow process of integration.
